_ This Implementation Addendum is a supplement to Chapter 14: Implementation Framework and provides the basis for successful implementation of the Auckland Plan.
_ This addendum provides for an Annual Implementation Update referred to in Chapter 14 of the Plan. It provides the basis for consideration by the Auckland Plan Committee, established by the Auckland Council in February 2012, of progress on implementing the many projects and actions in the Plan. The first update is to be published by 30 July 2012.
_ As a starting point, it provides a series of tables (Addendum Tables 3 to 6). These reflect current thinking at the time of the adoption of the Auckland Plan, on critical infrastructure projects, and the social, economic, environmental and cultural priorities and actions necessary to achieve Plan outcomes at all levels.
_ A content audit will inform the Committee of progress on the Auckland Plan against the tables, drawing attention to projects or programmes which are not progressing and recommending actions by Council, its partners or other players, to resolve issues and ensure progress.
_ The Annual Implementation Update will also include a process audit against a number of key aspects, identified in Chapter 14: Implementation Framework, considered necessary for successful implementation, including: alignment of the Auckland Council’s Long Term Plan, regulatory plans, central government’s intentions, and the actions of other Auckland partners.
_ The Annual Implementation Update will seek responses from within the Council and from key partners where alignment is not being achieved, with actions being proposed annually to resolve issues.
